Established in 1963 at Michigan State University, Red Cedar Review is the longest-running undergraduate-managed publication in the United States. We are proud to feature exclusively the work of undergraduate writers and artists.

Sylvia Hodges
Sylvia Hodges

Co-Managing Editor

Sylvia Hodges is a junior pursuing a BA in English with a focus in Creative Writing. She is a member of the Honors College at Michigan State University. This is her second year working with Red Cedar Review and her first as an editor. Sylvia is currently interning with the Michigan State University Press and previously worked with the international publication Publishing ByChelle. She is an avid follower of the theatre and has worked at the Wharton Center for the Performing Arts since her freshman year. In her free time, Sylvia is active on “bookstagram” and works with several authors and publishers to promote their books.

Kelsi Karpinski
Kelsi Karpinski

Club Coordinator

Kelsi Karpinski is a senior graduating as an English major with a concentration in Creative Writing and minors in Sociology and Women’s and Gender Studies. She has worked as a reader with the Red Cedar Review for two years, and is excited to continue with the publication. She loves books, movies, and wants to be an editor and an author in the future.

Mackenzie Patten
Mackenzie Patten

Co-Managing Editor

Mackenzie Patten is a senior graduating with a BA in English with a focus in Literature Studies as well as a minor in Spanish. Mackenzie is an avid reader who makes TikTok’s about her favorite books. She’s currently working with Penguin Random House to promote new releases. Mackenzie is eager to continue working within the Red Cedar review, using what she learns to propel her into a career in the publishing field.
