When We Walked
August Reynolds
i sit at the top
of that concrete
monstrosity
“call me August now, okay?”
i say
many shared smiles
were had here
i place a dead flower
where i sit
it was so beautiful
oh how it was just that
beautiful.
August Reynolds Hailing from Blacksburg, Virginia, August Reynolds’ writing magnifies the subjects surrounding people, the happenings of society, and our forever ongoing battle to remember and, at times, to forget. Inspired by authors such as Charles Bukowski, J.D. Salinger, and John Fante, August attempts to combine the grasping, chaotic beauty of the English language in conjunction with a simplistic delivery.
